10032 / visiting centre
The visiting centre for the Nikolai Astrup foundation is a direct response to the dynamic fjord landscape of the site. A functional vertical core that divides the front and back. To the back, a dark exhibition space and towards the front the public cafe. A roof placed in parallel to the steep contour, taking reference from the vernacular grass-roofs as the main facade of the building. A diagonal lift equipped on its side, proposing beyond the function of the building, proposing a circular circulation for the entire area that surrounds.
